Located in Cathedral St, the café offers a good variety of teas and coffee, made to order sandwiches, soup and tasty cakes.  Service is quick and the food is of good quality.  Décor is clean and minimalist and for those wishing to sit outside there is a small walled back yard. Does not accept credit cards!!

We tried the smoked salmon and smoked chicken sandwiches, both of which were served with salad and homemade coleslaw. The salmon was especially good but the chicken was a little lacking in flavour. Crisper salad leaves and perhaps a few root vegetable crisps would have made all the difference and moved it into the good value league.

The pot of tea was good and it was nice to see real tea leaves instead of the usual bag.  A nice touch was the use of chilled glasses with the cold drinks.

Overall, a nice place for coffee and cake or a light lunch and we will give it a try later in the year. Hopefully the inability to take credit cards is temporary.  If not, there needs to be a notice stuck on the front door to avoid embarrassment.
